Skipping July and Already Working On New Forbes Stories for August
From a regular contributor to Forbes covering sustainable travel.
Hi All,
Thank you so much for the pitches you sent me so far. I should let you know that even if I fail to reply (I am sorry for that by the way), I never ever delete any emails I receive.
I search in my inbox every time I am researching for a new story to see if I already have a source in that country or location.
For all requests you will read in this post, I already have at least one source.
I am also constantly expanding my PR database, which is a not-so-fancy excel sheet with all the sources, brands, companies, speakers etc. I either come across them via email or via Linkedin. That is also one of the other locations I search when I need a source and I am on a tight deadline. So feel free to send me your client list, if you have not already. Once is enough. Thank you.
Stories I Am Always Looking For
My inbox is always open emese@ecolodgesanywhere.com and I especially love strong opinions over general press releases.
What do I mean by that?
I got a pitch about high-altitude travel and how to visit Nepal responsibly in June. Out of that one email this story was born in July.
I almost always prioritise pitches like that.
Call For Pitches
I am looking for sources for the following Forbes stories in August.
I am on a back-to-back press trip until 26 June, so plenty of time to send me pitches.
'“Lower Emissions Hotel Rooms” (still open from July) - I am looking for hotels that offers a ‘Lower Emissions Hotel Room package’ WITHOUT components that unnecessarily increase the environmental footprint (such as automatic daily room cleaning, plastic water bottles, single use cosmetics, single use slippers etc.). For example, listing several versions of what is effectively the same room on booking platforms (free cancellation or not, breakfast or not, lower emission or not).
"How Range Anxiety Is Holding Back Green Road Trips” - My questions are:
What do you see as the biggest roadblock to a truly seamless EV road trip experience?
What misconceptions about EV range or charging infrastructure do you see most often among prospective buyers?
Have you noticed different levels of range anxiety across countries, age groups, or travel styles (solo vs family)?
Do you see range anxiety fading or will it persist until charging is as easy as finding a gas station?
“The Price of Capping Tourism in Europe” - According to WTTC's latest analysis, enforcing a cap on both international and domestic tourism in these cities would lead to$245 billion in lost Travel & Tourism GDP, $122 billion in tax revenue losses and 2.9 million jobs lost between 2025 and 2027. It would be equivalent to the entire tourism GDP of Italy. How can Europe's top tourism hubs tackle overcrowding without sacrificing jobs, tax revenue and strain on the local economy?
“How Historic Castles Are Becoming Eco-Conscious Hotels” (Outside Europe) - I am looking for example when a hotel turned castle, monastery, fortress or similar building into a sustainable stay. I know there are plenty of examples of this in Europe, and I already have enough sources for this. So I would like to have examples from across the globe, from any other continent. It should also have a strong focus on preserving cultural heritage or environment not just using the building as a hotel. I would like to showcase activities and experience where locals are included.
“How High-End Hotels Are Going Green Without Losing the Glamour” - I am specifically looking for recent initiatives, innovations, or investments launched in 2025 that show how high-end properties are reducing their environmental impact while maintaining — or even enhancing — the guest experience.

Latest Addition To The Directory
The latest addition is Epupa Falls Lodge in Namibia. It offers a true wilderness escape beside one of Africa’s most breathtaking waterfalls. This privately-owned eco-lodge seamlessly blends into its surroundings using 90% local materials like Makalani Palms and regional stone. With just 24 guest beds and 40 camping spots, the lodge maintains one of Namibia’s lowest guest footprints while providing intimate access to both the dramatic falls and the indigenous Himba culture.
My Free Directory For Eco Lodges, Eco Hotels, Eco Resorts
I started Eco Lodges Anywhere’s free directory because I couldn't find a place to freely browse authentic, eco-friendly accommodations worldwide.
So I came up with a definition of what kind of lodges I would like to stay in. Now, the directory includes over 120 accommodations committed to sustainability and responsible tourism. Here is an example.
If you’d like your client or your property to be considered for inclusion, please fill out this Google Form.
Or email my project coordinator, Leda Barta (leda@ecolodgesanywhere.com) if you have any questions.
